Stefanía G Halldórsdóttir joins Eyrir Venture Management as Managing Director for Eyrir Sprotar II
Stefanía G. Halldórsdóttir has joined Eyrir Venture Management, Eyrir Invest’s venture arm, as a new Managing Director for the company’s new VC fund, Eyrir Sprotar II. Stefanía joins Eyrir from Landsvirkjun – Iceland’s largest power producer, where she was Executive Director of Marketing and Business Development.
“I’m very excited to work in and support the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem in Iceland,” Stefanía says in a statement. “Eyrir has been a leader in startup investments in Iceland, and I hope to be able to provide valuable support to the current portfolio, as well as working with new opportunities.”
Before joining Landsvirkjun, Stefanía worked for CCP Games in the position of General Manager in Iceland, but also as Senior Development Director in the Shanghai office. Before joining CCP Games, Stefania worked in the energy industry for over 10 years, first at the National Energy Authority where she was head of information technology with responsibilities in international projects, and then later in a consulting company focusing on energy solutions and business intelligence.
She has been the Chairman of the Board of Icelandic Startups, the software company Tempo, Flow VR, a virtual reality experience company and Almannarómur, a foundation focused on developing language technology solutions for Icelandic.
In addition to Stefanía, Ingvar Petursson, former EVP of Technology and Finance has joined Eyrir Ventures as a board member for Eyrir Sprotar II as well as a member of the advisory board.
