One-third Icelander founded, London based Catapult raises £1.8m
While we usually don’t write about funding rounds outside Iceland, we thought it would be interesting to the Icelandic community to hear about Catapult’s most recent funding round. (We won’t be counting it in our reports though … )
Catapult, an on-demand staffing app cofounded by Óli Johnson (who also co-founded Rainmaking Loft), just announced a £1.8m funding round by Global Founders Capital.
Co-founder, Oli Johnson, commented on the trends he’s seeing across the market and how Catapult was seeking to embrace these opportunities: “Flexibility is fast becoming the key tenet of people’s happiness. It’s not just about control over where and when you work. It’s also about variety and progression. And fairness needs to be baked into the whole process.
“That’s what we’re trying to build with Catapult. Ultimately, we want to create a more awesome way for people to work, and with this new investment we’re ready to take Catapult to the next level.” (link)
