IMS Vintage Photos announces partnership with Catawiki
IMS Vintage Photos recently announced that it has joined forces with Catawiki, a renowned online auction platform for buying and selling antiques and collectibles.
IMS specialises in the digitization process of physical photographs, and partner with newspaper archives all over the world to get access to their historic and original pictures in exchange for assisting them with the overall digitization process. Brunnur Ventures invested in IMS last year.
“IMS mission is to preserve history while allowing the public to enjoy original vintage photographs as collectibles. We always aim to find new venues to provide customers with access to these photos – all originating from some of the foremost press photo archives in Europe,” reads in a statement from IMS.
“The market for vintage press photographs has been growing over the last few years as more people are starting to appreciate the unique value of press photos and their historical significance. IMS is excited to provide this opportunity to all the photography enthusiasts out there and give them the chance to bid on the most valuable photographs from our archives,” the statement continues.
“Catawiki was founded in 2008 as an online community for collectors. It has been working with rare antiques for many years now. It is a proven and trusted platform used by thousands of eCommerce users every week. Catawiki has access to experts in different categories that ensure that only high-quality items are offered in each auction. In combination with Catawiki’s innovative marketplace, IMS can offer truly extraordinary value to the end-user,” the statement reads.
“For every auction, The IMS team selects only highly curated material from their archives and presents it to even more collectors around the world thanks to Catawiki and their marketplace. They created a specially customized auction that gives people the possibility to own a real valuable vintage press photo with certified provenance,” the statement states.
