Slate secures investment from Aranja to simplify backend development for software development teams
Slate, an Icelandic startup that aims to make the development of web services and databases more accessible to software development teams has secured an investment from Aranja, a development studio known for creating comprehensive digital solutions. The founders of Slate, Alexander Jósep Blöndal and Birkir Örn Karlsson, have been working on the product for the past three years.
Nothing has been made public regarding the amount of the investment.
According to Sævar Már Atlason, the new CEO of Slate, creating web services and databases can be a time-consuming task. However, with Slate, software development teams can create, deploy, and monitor their backend services in real-time collaboration without the required infrastructure overhead.
Aranja’s investment in Slate follows its use of the solution in product development over the last year. The development studio has been active in the startup scene with one of its ventures Hopp, a sustainable mobility service, which has secured over $7M in funding.
Ægir Þorsteinsson, CEO of Aranja, expressed excitement about the possibilities of Slate’s fresh approach to simplify backend development, which is often complex and time-consuming. He added that with their investment in Slate, they are taking the next step in their journey as a venture studio, where they combine their experience in digital solutions and innovation.
Aranja was founded in 2014 by Eiríkur Heiðar Nilsson and Ægir Þorsteinsson, Aranja offers comprehensive digital solutions with a team of designers and software developers. The company has 19 specialists working on various projects for clients such as Facebook, Google, Sotheby’s, and the Blue Lagoon.
