Twitter sets up a corporate entity in Iceland

Twitter has set up a corporate entity in Iceland, but Twitter Netherlands B.V. registered a branch in the Icelandic company directory in late January. The move follows Twitter’s purchase of the Icelander founded design agency Ueno.

Haraldur Thorleifsson, founder of Ueno and now, a Twitter employee, said on Twitter last Friday night that he had just completed his first day of work for the company, but the entity was set up so Haraldur could stay in Iceland.

“So, Twitter Reykjavik is now a reality!” said Haraldur.

Ueno was a digital design agency with offices in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Reykjavik, and had worked for many leading brands in the world, including Dropbox, Slack, Redbull, and Twitter.

In the beginning of January it was unveiled that Twitter had acquired Ueno and that the Ueno team would join Twitter’s design and research team.
